NASHVILLE, Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Television personality Rossi Morreale ("Temptation," "TBS Weekend Extra," "Foody Call") has been named host of CAN YOU DUET, CMT's new weekly music competition series produced by FremantleMedia North America (FMNA), it was jointly announced today by Eugene Young, Chief Creative Officer for FMNA, and Bob Kusbit, Head of Development for CMT. Sundance is over. Well, for me at least, the festival continues through January 27th, but it was time for me to get back to Pittsburgh. This was one of the best festivals ever for me and for the Pittsburgh region. As I have written about earlier, this is the first time that Pittsburgh has had two major films in the festival. Both movies were shot and set here, too, which was a bonus. This provided a multitude of opportunities to talk about how great it is to shoot projects in our region. People were talking everywhere about how great our region looks on film. I met lots of people, saw some amazing films and made some new connections, which should help us see even more work in Pittsburgh in the near future. One last image to close the festival was of the tall blonde PIB, ordering at Starbucks in the Salt Lake City airport.

Cethromycin Achieves All Endpoints in Second Pivotal Phase III Trial ...
CHICAGO, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Advanced Life Sciences Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADLS) , today announced positive results from Trial CL-05, the second of two pivotal phase III clinical trials designed to assess the safety and effectiveness of cethromycin, a novel once-a-day oral antibiotic for the treatment of mild-to-moderate community acquired pneumonia (CAP), the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. The primary efficacy endpoint of statistical non-inferiority in the clinical cure rate at the test-of-cure visit was achieved. The study results showed that cethromycin cured 94.0% of patients with CAP, compared to Biaxin(R) (clarithromycin), a current standard of care treatment for CAP, which cured 93.8% of studied patients in the per protocol population. In the modified intent to treat population, cethromycin cured 83.1% of patients and Biaxin cured 81.1%.

Felton's job status is uncertain as Georgia's season comes to a close
Two freshmen, Jeremy Jacob and Chris Barnes, were lost to season-ending injuries. Another top reserve, Rashaad Singleton, quit the team after he lost a starting job to freshman Jeremy Price. Meanwhile, guard Billy Humphrey is back in the lineup after arrests in separate incidents for underage possession of alcohol and having a small knife in his dorm room. Humphrey has also missed time with a knee injury. Evans has not given any insight how he will factor in the injuries, suspensions and dismissals when he evaluates Felton, who is 71-78 in five years. "As always I'll sit down with our head basketball coach at the end of the year," Evans said Thursday. "We do everything in totality and until such time there is nothing more to be said." The city of Post Falls is contracting with the KC election department to conduct a special election today (at the Armory on Seltice until 8 p.m.) on this issue. As of about 3:40 p.m. when I made a visit there had been 168 votes cast including early absentee. That translates into a voter turnout so far of 1.6 percent. Who knows, at that rate the turnout may go over 2 or even 3 percent." He adds: "For the curious, the current number of registered voters in Post Falls is 10,207." So why the low turnout? Is this issue just too procedural to capture the attention of the electorate? .

I would like to quickly clarify what happened at the Kanye West show in California. Actually, it was a Common show that Kanye popped up on. Last week I said that Kanye dissed the Grammys. Well, it wasn't at the Anaheim show like I said. This apparently occurred at the Hollywood show at the House of Blues. I wasn't there so I didn't hear it or anything. Also, I heard that in a third verse freestyle, Kanye said “I beat 50."

GameTap offers two all-you-can-download subscription options, $9.95 a month or $59.95 a year, for access to its library of nearly 1,000 titles. About 50 titles are free to anyone who registers with the site. GameTap also allows people who are not subscribers to download games at prices closer to those of the retail editions. While GameTap recently began offering Mac games, Valve is strictly for Windows users. Both services provide system requirements and recommended specifications for any given game so you do not download a game your computer cannot run. My download from GameTap of Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary, a 1.1-gigabyte Windows game that was available in stores and on GameTap the same day, took about 45 minutes to complete over my cable broadband connection.
